24th @ Sushi Kanazawa

Celebrated his 24th at Sushi Kanazawa for dinner after work!! First time back here after the establishment was renamed from Sushi Kikuzawa to the current Sushi Kanazawa. Sounds confusing? The head chef/boss went back to Japan, so the other chef took over the restaurant. Because we remember seeing the current head chef/boss the previous 2 times we came. =D Read previous entry here (better pictures!)

Standard was a good as before, so no worries!

Chef at work.
Aburi Amaebi Mentai sushi.
THIS IS... OMG HEAVEN. Soooooo goood!! I think I had like 3 of these, at least. Didn't bring my camera so I made do with my iPhone's. Haha. Only took pictures of some of the more interesting (those I LOVE) ones.

Minced tuna belly and fugu.
Yeah... about the fugu. I don't really see the appeal in this fish. Just gives me the jitters every time I eat it. Hahaha. It seriously tastes like rubberband to me. Okay I just Google-ed and I'm not the only one who thinks fugu tastes like rubberband. HAHAHAHA.

BEST.TAMAGO.EVER (at least in sg)
Best tamago I've tried in SG, so far. Really love it. It's not bright yellow like those you get from Sakae Sushi or Sushi Tei, but it has this greyness about it. DON'T UNDERESTIMATE THE TAMAGO. Seriously damn good please.

I think that was Aburi Shake (seared salmon). Haha. I don't actually remember eating much of the raw salmon sushi because I LOVE ANYTHING ABURI!! Anything blowtorched, is love.

Bf ordered this onigiri even after we were super full, just to try a traditional onigiri. =.=

Happy birthday bf!

Random Things

Some random pictures I discovered in my iPhone after transferring them over to the laptop.
Egg Mayo Sandwich and Coffee
Awesome breakfast to wake up to.

Grapefruit Essential Oil.
Grapefruit essential oil from But apparently it's toxic to cats. Zzzz. Fine. I smell lor. Open then cap and sniff like an addict. HAHAHAHA. But apparently quite many things that I like are toxic to cats. Like tea tree oil. And grapefruit. =.=

Art Science Museum
Went to the iLight exhibition again! Major love. But didn't managed to get super fantastic shots. Hahaha. I liked the one that was in the room with lights that looked like rainfall. <3 very romantic.

Colored Merlion
Also from the iLight exhibition. The projection of the light made the Merlion look painted. Very cool. OH I REMEMBER MY FAV EXHIBIT! The one with a projection into the water about this prehistoric animal living in the water. The projection was SO LIFE LIKE. Amazing.

Strawberry icecream
Something for the walk home from the mrt.

Mum bought this amazing pillow for me. Because my current pillow was almost completely flat. THIS IS SO NICE! Felt just like the pillows from MBS. Had an awesome sleep.

Worst Jap food stall from TTSH's Kopitiam
Finally found out why there's never a queue at that stall. The food sucks. Serious. I didn't believe it and bought ramen to try... but... =(

Choc chip icecream!
Something sweet to end the day with.

Handwashing techniques.
Had to remember this for some handwashing audit. Hahahahaha. Passed with flying colors, obviously. I always forget step 4 though. So weird.

New stroller!!
Their new stroller finally arrived and we went to collect it from Mich! Super love it even though it's not exactly the one I wanted. Hahaha. But similar. So no problems. This can fit all three of them! And they can now sit upright. Downside is that I can't fetch them in the car if I'm using this stroller because the carriage is attached to the frame, unlike the other one. But it's alright! I can push them around the neighborhood, or think of something else. =D

181 The Home of Seafood Restaurant

Seafood and meat!
So.... Eueu, Kar and I went to eat eat eat!!!

Hotpot and hotplate. LOVE!
We've been looking for the charcoal bbq type of buffet, but the one at Punggol was too far away. So we made do with this. Hotpot with hotplate! It wasn't too bad actually. I think I liked the stuff from the hotplate more than the stuff from the hotpot. But then again, you can't exactly cook veggies on the hotplate, right? The veggies selection is mind-blowing. Give them a try if you can!

QQ Rice

QQ Rice
I've been eyeing this little shop across the street from TTSH and have actually entered and exited the shop a couple of times too. Daunted by the task of choosing my food.

After I got over the part where I feel 'suaku' about not knowing how to order my food (imagine your first Subway buy - exactly the same), I plucked up the courage one day after work and took the plunge. I queued up for one.

Purple rice with seaweed, turkey bacon, bak kwa, mushroom chicken, chicken floss.
You get to pick out of 6 different kinds of rice, and you can mix 2 kinds of rice if you want to. After which you pick 5 out of like 40+ ingredients. Bad for me because I'm indecisive. Hahahaha. It's like trying to think of what to cook for dinner (not that I've ever done that). Like trying to match a dish. One thing I can say after my first QQ Rice ball, is that I love it. I think it's the fact that there's that seaweed in it. I love that seaweed. Super addictive.

Brown rice + Wheat Germ rice with seaweed, burdock, bak kwa, sambal ikan bilis, chicken floss.
I'm going to try more combinations next time, but till then, seaweed, bak kwa and chicken flood has got to be a must in my rice ball. =D

Beauty and The Beast 3D

Picture from IMDB

Eu, Kar and I went to watch Beauty and The Beast in 3D!!! It's still as awesome as ever, if not better!!! The graphics were really good because they cleaned it up quite a fair bit (old movies are quite low in resolution I assume), and the colors actually look better now. Hehehe. And to watch it on the big screen, awesome.

The cinema was actually quite crowded, and the ratio of girls to guys was about 20:1? Hahaha. And most of the girls looked about our age. Ahhhh, the good old days. =D

Can they do Cinderella in 3D next? =D
