Alive Gallery + Popeye's + Neoprints!

Ti arranged for us to go the the Alive Gallery at Downtown East today. Hurrr. We finally have a day to meet up again!
Ti (Bishan) picked me (AMK) --> Eueu (AMK) --> Jas (Queenstown) --> Kar (Pasir Ris) then we went to Downtown East. Wah. She drove so much. O.O And we waited soooooo loooonnnnngggg for Jas. Lol.

Headed straight to the Alive Gallery and got our tickets for like $8 each! Some offer. Photo-taking not allowed inside other than at 1 locations marked with a box. =.= Anyway the two marked boxes are facing this 3D art piece where you can stand inside and look like you're inside the painting. Quite cool, but the lighting inside sucks. Brought the wrong lens out again for the 747357th time. =(

Eueu and Jas.
Most of the pictures turned out looking like the one above, so not many pictures to post anyway. Haha. I preferred the next location anyway.

Van Gogh's Cafe Terrace at Night
This is so so so much more colorful. And brighter. =D

Lamp in the 'painting'.
Overall, so-so. Some pretty interesting paintings and 3D stuff with information and all. Oh and there's an interactive Mona Lisa! BUT HER HAND IS SO UGLY!!! She waved at us and her hand/palm WAS LIKE A MAN'S. *horror*

Went to Popeye's for dinner after that!

One very small portion
Our table was FULL of food! Lol. Had trouble finishing everything. But I LOVE THE BISCUITS!!! With jam. =D

Walked to the lift and actually saw Candy and Yemin at Gelare!! Seriously, it was like FYP all over again. Lol. So coincidental. Wheee~~ Arcade next! And we even took neoprints! Last one with all us 5 was during FYP. Like 3years back?! O.O

Took picture of the machine.
Haha. Bigger photo. But Eueu and Kar had better pictures because they were standing in front of the screen. Not enough space to squeeze us all in because the machine was backed up near the wall. =.=

Snapping away

Ti sent us all home after. Hurrr. I enjoyed today!! =D

Day 240 - Light in the Dark

Light in the Dark
Went to the Alive Gallery and took this picture from the set of Van Gogh's Cafe Terrace at Night. Just a lamp on the wall, lighting the place up. =)

Dinner @ Shokudo, Dessert @ MOF

Had dinner with Eueu and Kar after the Lab MCQ tonight. Hurr. Went to Shokudo at Raffles City. My 1st time eating at Shokudo!

Eueu's Rosti
Grilled Salmon Belly
Hee. I ordered the same thing as Kar. Because I didn't know what to eat and everything else did not tempt me. =X

Sour Cream
Erm. I liked my Grilled Salmon Belly, but I think Shokudo's food choices are very limited. I prefer Manpuku! But it was kind of far, so maybe next time? Walked around, though I think we were all pretty worn out. Went to MOF for desserts!

Kuromitsu Soft Serve
Love this ice cream. Hehe. Off to bed. Zzz

Dog/Cat Stroller

Whenever I bring Thierry to the vet, I use the Ferplast carrier I've always been using (like the one above). There's only one handle above and Thierry keeps sitting on one end, making it too unbalanced. And the carrier's too big for him too. =.= He takes up like about half the space inside. And the carrier's not very light too. But it's a once a year (unless ill) thing to bring him out, so I haven't had much complains, though I would've liked to be able to bring him out, safely, to walk around.

But it's quite useful when I bring the kittens to the vet (quite often because of their vaccinations and soon-to-come sterilisation). Though it's getting really too heavy and my fingers get bruised from carrying the carrier with the weird handle. And I almost dropped them too. =( Almost. And it'e very difficult to maneuver the carrier when I bring them to the vet, alone. A little too big for the front passenger seat.

Thierry weighs at about 4.1kg, while the kittens are now about 2.4kg each. Imagine the weight, all on one handle. T__T

I have this in blue
When I 1st brought the kittens home, I actually used Thumper's carrier, the one above. They were then about 1.4kg each, and could fit comfortable into this carrier. Fat hope now. THEY HAVE GROWN SO MUCH!!

So now, I've been looking around for a dog stroller with removable carriage/carrier so I can push them in the stroller to the car, load into the car, and bring the carrier into the vet's easily. Without feeling like I'm moving a block of concrete.

For the past few days, I've been looking around for a dog stroller for my cats. Scouring online shops in Singapore is no mean feat. Especially when you're buying something that not everyone stocks/buys. Turnover a low, and cost is high. *headache* And noone replied in the forum about cat-safe strollers.

The thing about getting a cat-safe stroller was that it had to have a zip closure. At first, I wanted the stroller that looked like a baby's pram (those with the high-ceiling). It had a larger carriage, meaning bigger space for the cats. But if I wanted to load the stroller into the car, the carriage is not detachable. Those with removable carriages are smaller, and definitely does not come in the pram-kind.

Pram-like dog stroller
I wanted something similar. Definitely not in pink. =.= Too.... weird. Lol.

Stroller with removable carrier
Can you see the difference in carriage size? I was going to settle for something similar. But decided that I should look around more for more choices. I even went to a few pet shops to look for strollers and see the sizes for myself. I'm going to have a very big problem when Muffin and Snowball's sterilisation date rolls around next month. How to handle them both carefully when the carrier is too heavy for me to carry? =(

I think I might have found the perfect stroller.

PetZip Backpack Jogger Stroller from
It's not cheap though. At US$110 (excluding shipping), it's quite pricey. Furthermore, it'll be international shipping. I tried checking out my cart to see the total price, and after doing some currency conversion, I estimate that this stroller will probably set me back by about S$330. OH MY GOSH. So damn expensive. Maybe one day when money falls from the sky into my lap (or when I save enough). Okay, found one at that including shipping to Singapore will add up to about S$260++? So much cheaper!!

But the thing is, it looks big enough. And the carriage is removable, and can be carried by the side, or as a backpack. How awesome is that? And there's a bottom compartment to store things. And cupholders! And can hold up to 25lbs (usual is about 10-15lbs)!

Anyone knows where I might be able to find in-stocks for pet strollers? Or get a pet shop to import this for me? =( Who wants to offer to buy it for me? =/

Day 235 - Sweet Xena

Sweet Xena
Went to look for past photos I took of Xena, and found this one from sometime in June. Was taking pictures of Rocky + Romeo, and Xena was together with them. I didn't even know I had such a gem of a photo until I looked for pictures of her. She looked so so so sweet. =( I miss her.

The Coffee Connoisseur @ Terminal 3

Went to Changi Airport Terminal 3 today. With him and Sis. Hurrr. Settled down at The Coffee Connoisseur. He to study, Sis to mark her work. Me? Ermmm... to eat? To study? To read? To play? I brought along my notes, a book and my DSlite. I ended up taking pictures of food and eating the food instead. =X

Shrooms Bite
This is yummy! I like everything about it except the corn in the filling. Weird taste.

Deluxe Snack Platter (Golden Fried Prawns, Onion Rings and Calamari Rings)
This was pretty good! Pick 3 out of the 6 kinds of finger food they have to make a platter. All items on this platter were good! Love the prawns especially. But like... 4pcs? =.=

Hazelnut Latte
Hehe. I love latte/mocha/mocha latte. And the Hazelnut Latte was nice!! So pretty too. =D

Mint-Choc Frapp√©
 His Mint-choc Frapp√©. Erm. I don't like mint in my drinks. =X

Frutti Delight
Sis' Frutti Delight. She already started stirring it before I took a picture. =(

Saw damn awesome sunset on the way home. It's always from the TPE -> SLE direction! And there's a flyover area of the TPE where there's not many trees/streetlamps around. Too bad we can't stop on the road shoulder to take pictures. =( I keep seeing awesome sunsets in that direction. T____T

Sunset! Trees blocking. =(
Trees still blocking. T___T
By the time I took out my camera, we passed the flyover. *sigh* Better luck next time! Hurr.

Day 234 - Cloud Bubble

Cloud Bubble
Spotted this in the sky yesterday evening while at the Natsu Matsuri. Very interesting, the way it was shaped and how it was lit. =)

Day 233 - Yo-yo Balloons

Yo-yo balloons floating on water
Went to the Natsu Matsuri today! Had fun trying to fish out yo-yo balloons from a baby pool. They're so pretty!

Day 232 - R.I.P Xena

Xena passed away suddenly just now. Went down to see her for the last time. Most of us were there, but the 2 most important people couldn't come down, much as they would want to. It's too sudden. My 1st time experiencing a dog who.... passed away. She was always so sweet, so mild, so gentle. Unlike the usual bull terriers I've seen/met. After finding her back after her 10months being lost, she was returned... But joy was shortlived.

Why does this happen? I cannot imagine when the other dogs start leaving us (it is inevitable. All living things die). 1st death at Gentle Paws since the opening. =(

R.I.P Xena. <3

Ebisboshi @ Iluma

Went to Bugis with Kar to look for the stupid strings thing (koshi-himo) for yukata. Had dinner at Ebisboshi at Iluma. Ermmm. That restaurant place is actually 3 restaurants sharing one entrance. =.= And so we ended up in the wrong restaurant. Lol. But then again, they had a pretty comprehensive menu, so all was fine.

So many restaurants

My curry pork cutlet! I like.

This was really good. Very authentic-tasting (according to me, but I might be wrong). I like!

Kar's weird fish.

Custard Pudding
All the food items were not bad, but the custard pudding was the worst decision possible. =( There went my dessert. But at least there was Koi to make up for it. =D

Though we didn't buy the koshi-himo in the end, I had fun. Hurrrr.

Day 230 - Mini Crab

Mini Crab
Mini crab found at the beach! It was still alive. Wonder what it would look like when it grows up? Is it edible? LOL

Day 229 - Randy

Randy in the sea for the 1st time!
Randy took his 1st swim in the sea during his 1st FurryDay. =) Swimming helps his bad leg, but there're not many places a dog can go for swimming. =(

Day 228 - Dollar

Dollar is seldom excited about anything, but whenever FurryDay arrives, it's as though she knows. She's always excited to get to the beach for a swim!!

Sunday, August 15, 2010

Day 227 - Destine in the Sand

Destine in the Sand
Destine is always happy to be in the sand. =)

Day 226 - FurryDay2!

2nd FurryDay outing! 1st one in July was a blast, and this time round, we got alot more people to join us!! So we had many more hands and could bring many more dogs! And there were many nice people who didn't mind ferrying dogs to/from the beach! So nice of them. =D

I fetched 3 dogs today. Donna, XiaoBai and Emily! Was quite apprehensive about XiaoBai and Emily going because they always tagteam and beat other dogs up, but surprisingly, they were very well behaved at the beach! Maybe because it's not their 'territory'? =D

More pictures to come!

Day 224 - Sleeping Kitteh

Muffin absolutely lovessss to sleep on my bags. And she can sleep like a log. =.= Heavy sleepers, my kittens. Only Thierry is a light sleeper. Haha.

Day 223 - Have a Break, Have a KitKat

Megabox of KitKats
Dad went a little crazy with the chocolate-buying and bought this box of KitKats. I don't even know how many there are inside this. O.O All I know is that I'll eat them. =D

Day 221 - Sunny Side Up

Sunny Side Up from Breaktalk
I love this bread! But very fattening. So much butter. =( But so so so good.

Oh and by the way, Happy National Day!
I was home alone, watching the parade on TV. I stuck my head out of my window to see the fireworks (while feeling afraid of falling out the window).

Day 220 - Amanda and DakDakDei

Amanda with DakDakDei
Amanda loves DakDakDei (very weird name, but apparently from some HongKong drama) alotttt. Probably because he's so.... pitiful. But now he's better! =) He's only 10months old, so he's still somewhat a puppy. Though not a puppy size-wise. Anyone looking for a cat-friendly dog? =D

Day 219 - Frames

My Wall
I'm finally done with procrastinating And actually went to spray paint all the frames I bought from IKEA last December. Love the blue!! It's called "Comfort Blue". Lol. Funny name, but really comforting! Lol. I now have more than 20 pictures hanging on my wall. Finished spraying them on Monday, and hung them up on Tuesday. *proud* I'm so glad I finally did it. Now... what other pictures to print and hang up? =D
